Renowned cryptocurrency trader Josh Olszewicz has identified a Tenkan/Kijun crossover on Bitcoin's daily chart. This bearish signal potentially signifies the initiation of a bearish trend.
Understanding Bitcoin's Bearish Signal: Tenkan/Kijun Crossover Explained
To calculate the Tenkan Sen, one must divide the highest high and the lowest low in price over the past nine periods by two. This line typically functions as a short-term support level during an uptrend, suggesting potential buying interest at that level. Conversely, it can act as a short-term resistance level during a downtrend.

The Kijun Sen, also known as the base line, is determined by summing the highest high and lowest low over the past 27 periods and dividing the total by two. This line serves as a medium-term support level.

Bitcoin's Price Outlook: Bearish Signals and Ethereum's Surge
Nevertheless, this signal may not mark the definitive end of the bullish trend, as the crossover occurred below the Ichimoku cloud. Presently, Bitcoin is trading at $63,645, according to data from CoinGecko.
As noted by U.Today, the leading cryptocurrency is currently trailing behind Ethereum, which has recorded a substantial 6% surge in the last 24 hours alone.

The bearish Tenkan/Kijun crossover occurring below the Ichimoku cloud suggests increased downward pressure on Bitcoin's price. This could potentially lead to a further decline in the short term, as investors may react to the bearish signal by selling off their holdings or adopting a more cautious stance.
Additionally, Bitcoin's underperformance relative to Ethereum may signal a shift in investor sentiment, with some market participants favoring alternative cryptocurrencies over Bitcoin in the current market environment.
