Shiba Inu to Launch Utility and Governance Token TREAT

Shiba Inu recently secured $12 million through a private token sale for its upcoming TREAT utility and governance token. Notable investors, including Comma 3 Ventures, Big Brain Holdings, Cypher Capital, Shima Capital, and others, participated in the sale, as announced on April 22. All participants in the private sale were located outside the United States.

The involvement of these venture capital firms and their partners is expected to fuel the expansion of the Shiba Inu project and enhance its capabilities for the community, as stated by Shytoshi Kusama, the anonymous core developer of Shiba Inu.

Kusama Clarification

Kusama, who has kept a low profile this year, has been reportedly sighted in various locations such as New York, Japan, and the Maldives. Despite speculation, Kusama insists that he is merely on vacation, seeking enjoyment like everyone else. However, he resurfaced on Telegram on April 21, responding sharply to a user's critique with, "I have put my heart and soul into building this.”

Shiba Inu staff clarified that "TREAT is the final unreleased token by the popular meme brand, unlocking Shiba Inu’s newly announced blockchain featuring Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE)." Two months ago, Shiba Inu partnered with Zama.ai to implement FHE technology, forming the basis of the protocol’s innovative privacy layer, Tre.

The raised funds will be utilized by Shiba Inu’s Panamanian entity, Shiba Inu Mint S.A., to develop the Treat platform. The project highlights potential applications of the technology, including encrypted lending platforms, tokenized asset exchanges, and encrypted machine learning models.

Shiba Inu has emerged as a leading memecoin, posting a remarkable 164% gain over the past year. In December, the protocol introduced .shib domains for its token holders. Additionally, Shibarium, its layer-2 scaling solution, has surpassed over 1 million users since its inception.
